[Once again, single quotes ' ' is thoughts.
Spirits can read my thoughts fyi.]
Never one to get much sleep, Haku wakes to the gentle light of sun beams streaming from the slightly open window.
'I guess it's time to leave.'
Washed up and ready to go, Haku collects the little belongings that he has and exits the simple yet cozy room, shutting the door behind him.
In an obvious effort not to wake any of the sleeping guests, he makes his way down the stairs in a very cautious manner.
"Aw shucks, ya leavin' already?"
"w-Wah? Oh. Ahem. Yes, I'm afraid I have to go now.."
'The innkeeper's awake at the crack of dawn..?'
"Well I thank yous mighty for staying at this here inn. Say hi to the ol' healer up on that hill for me, will ya?"
"Yes, I'll make sure to do that."
'Right. Like she's a person I would want to run into again..'
Stepping outside the homely cottage, Haku had the edges of Wendel City in his sight.
Upon entering, he was greeted with some normal looking buildings, normal looking people, and a normal looking sign.
"WENDEL CITY"
'..It could be worse.'
Haku approached the nearest person he could find, a young man who appeared to be completely normal, and asked him of the whereabouts of a bank.
"Excuse me, could you tell me where the bank is..?"
"Well, just take a left down this path then go up the next street a little and you should spot it."
"Okay, tha-"
"But right now you probably wouldn't want to go there."
"Why?"
"You'll see."
Following the man's directions, Haku arrived at a building that had a very large, normal sign reading "BANK".
Upon further inspection he could see a poster taped on the door reading in a very hurried handwriting "CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE."
'Great. That damned healer and her buddies at the inn left me without a zenny to spare. Why do I have all of my clients wire the money to my account..'
"Looks like we're going hunting" says a lightning spirit mockingly.
"You could still check out that bar, remember? The one that we originally came here for?" chimed in Undine.
'Oh, right. The one that was said to have some extra shady characters who possess some equally shady information..'
Haku learned from another passerby that "The Rozen Pig" was located a little bit north of where he was, west of the town square.
The place looked questionable, and Haku was hoping he could get some sort of a lead on Atra here.
Looking inside, all he saw was..
sheep!?!
There were four of them, sitting around a table...
playing poker!?!
Some even had pairs of ridiculous sunglasses just to put on more of a "poker face".
Realizing that Haku was standing outside, one of the sheep stood up, pasted a sign on the window, and went back to his seat.
"CLOSED UNTIL BAA-TENDER GETS BACK"
...
'Oh you have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! First the bank, and now this dump! And what's with those sheep!? It's not like anyone can read their emotions anyway!'
"This..is an unlikely turn of events.." muttered Celsius.
"Booooo. And I wanted to get a drink here, tooo" whines Undine.
"Looks like we ARE going hunting, Haku." says a smug Volt.
"Hunting!? Really? I love fighting those big bad monsters!" cries an overjoyed Sylph.
'...'
Heading BACK to the town square to check the bulletin board, Haku searched for a monster that needed some hurtin'.
'Most of these are just some crop-eating, bothersome pests--petty change. I need something bigger since buying information out of those shady folks isn't chea--'
"THREE-HEADED HYDRA IN THE SNOW CITY ELRAND. BOUNTY HUNTER NEEDED. REWARD: 7,777,777 ZENNIES. GET TO THE ELRAND ART SHOP ASAP"
(There was a childish scribble of a hydra on the poster that utterly struck terror in the hearts of man.)
'I guess it's off to snow land..'
"OH GOODIE~ I've been DYING for some of their jewelry!"
'Paying for her is like feeding a third world country T_T;'
...
(The hydra was shooting out hearts, by the way.)
So that was realllyy long.
Mmyes, I wonder just WHO posted up that bounty.
And yes, It's off to rescue ZaKeii.
Should probably use colors for spirits since typing out names is tedious.
