Name: Artemis
Age: 16 - 15 is too...young.
Species: human.
Origin: Prosechoexousia.
Job: Investigative reporter.
Appearance: because everything is better if it has shades and is stolen from video games: court-records.net/arts/gs4guidebook/05-kyouya06.jpg Except no necklace, and a black jacket. And younger. Yes? Yes?
Personality: Constantly thinking, calculating, and weighing every word spoken and heard. He may seem withdrawn and quiet but that can be blamed on the way his parents treated him in his childhood. When on the job, however, he is quite enthusiastic. His sarcasm has a biting edge and he always considers his opinions carefully before forming them.
Likes: blonde people, hats, sunglasses, reading, studying magic, etc.
on a random note, he's got a pet griffin.
Dislikes: liars, being misunderstood, fangirls, losing a scoop, doing his hair, judgmental people
History/background: Artemis was born in Ekklesia, into a rich aristocrat family, somewhere in line to the throne. His mother was a well-off mage and his father was a close friend of the king, and diligent scholar. At first, he had a basically normal life; doted by his mother and the servants and treated as a typical baby. But when he was about eleven months old and he'd learned how to speak, he told his mother he loved her. (In a cute baby-esque way, if you have any trouble imagining)
His mother responded, "prove it."
For the rest of his years, whatever he said, he was forced to give proof that it was really true. Even if he said something, for example, like, "I'm hungry", he would have to provide along with that statement some evidence that he was or else he wouldn't be fed. Of course, at first, he was rather resentful of his parents for treating him this way, but he eventually got used to it, and accepted it as part of life, thinking that all children were treated this way. As he grew up, he was taught by the very best, and was soon a competent fencer, mage, and scholar. He became playmates with Prince Adrian, and as the two grew up they became close friends.
Finally when he turned ten, his father finally pulled him aside to have a talk with him. He explained that he'd been trying to prepare him for what he was meant to do - find the truth, and let the people know about it. Apparently, the goddess Alitheia had commissioned he himself to prepare his son to do Her bidding.
So Artemis decided to become an investigative reporter instead of a hero, because it was kind of easier that way.
He is still good friends with Adrian, and they both hang around when they have the time and annoy Melantha and Edric.
Skills: finding the truth, detecting the "contradictions" (yes, I must), noticing things other people wouldn't otherwise, prying at people's private lives, finding things out, fencing
[ this wasn't actually Phoenix Wright inspired. Actually, I thought this guy up in History class. The having to prove everything he said part, anyway. It's a long story. Really. ]
