*Thump* "Ugh, that was my worst punishment session to boot. Where am I?" Shiki looked around the area he had just been transported to. This wasn't somewhere he had been before, yet the air held a faint scent that was annoyingly familiar. He staggered to his feet, and tried to shake off his grogginess.
"Oy, who are you, what are...." A familiar voice, the only familiar voice that didn't cause him to feel dagger with every word. It couldn't be though. Shiki shook the ridiculous idea out of his head. "....Shi.. ki?" It was her.... Shiki immediately dropped his body the the floor once more and gave a bow.
"Mistress, I can't believe it's you. I had heard you came here, and after I did not see you.."
"Hush Shiki, you look terrible. Have you been punished again? I thought I told you to be careful and to not give them a reason to hurt you. Oh look at these bruises, your scars seem to have multiplied threefold. Shiki, what HAVE you been up to? We'll have to see to those wounds right away." Shiki felt a strange tingling sensation cover his body. He looked at his arms and legs. The bruises were disappearing quickly. Seeing the purple shrink into a single point as if being sucked into his body seemed almost comical to him, but then again what did he know about comedy.
When his bruises had all disappeared Shiki stood and looked into the eyes of not the beautiful girl he remembered, but the eyes of an old woman. Seeing his expression the old lady smiled.
"Don't worry Shiki. It's me."
"But why....."
"Auntie? I heard voices. Who are you talking to?"
"Oh, Auntie's just talking with one of her old friends who happened to be passing by. Go back to bed Kata."
"Mm'kay."
"Auntie? The Master didn't have anymore children... Mistress what's going on?"
"Shiki we've been over this I hate it when you call me mistress. My name is Selina remember? It's fine now, you're not being watched, and even if you are I command you to call me by my name."
"I'm sorry Selina, but please, tell me what's going on? I haven't seen you since the end of my training. I hoped to see you when the Overlord gave me my first mission."
"I know, and I'm sorry I couldn't be there Shiki. I was just so sick of things back in Ater, so I asked to be transported here. I didn't want anyone recognizing me so I disguised myself as an old woman. After a few days I found Kata alone, and near her death bed in the woods. I felt sorry for the little girl so I nursed her back to health. When she was able to speak I asked her where her parents were. When she looked at me with those sad eyes I just couldn't leave her..." Selina took a moment to regain her composure. Shiki always thought it odd how Selina had compassion. Being the daughter of the Overlord, must have been worse than anything he had been through, yet she was able to care for people. She had been the only person who had treated him like he was worth something. She made him feel almost like.. He quickly snapped out of his thoughts as she continued. "Her parents had died, and she was left alone for weeks in the woods. She had just barely survived on edible roots, and berries. Like I said I took pity on her. She had gone through so much, so I enchanted her with a new memory, a new life. She had an extensive knowledge of plants, so I became her aunt and opened up this hut of healing. We get along well enough, charging a large amount of gold whenever we run low on money. Every few months I report back things I've heard or seen, from my patients here that might help the cause a little, but not too much. This is a wondrous land, and I would hate to see bad things happen to it."
"But Mis... Selina once Lord Ater finds out about your ideas you will surely be executed. I couldn't bear seeing that happen to you."
"Shiki if you really cared about me you would try to help me find a way to stop this madness. If Ater comes back to power nothing will be as he says. The path of Ater leads only to the path of an everlasting hell! Please Shiki!"
Shiki could only stare at her. She had been through so much, yet she pitied people who had no idea of her pain. She even was willing to sacrifice everything to help them. She was showing him bravery he could never hope to match. His eyes began to water as he realized he would never be worthy of her, never be able to hold his head up high in her presence. What she was proposing was madness, yet turning her in was madness as well.
"I'll think about it. I fear I am being watched, so me staying here will be a danger to you and the girl. I will leave immediately. Even if I decide to continue to serve my Master I promise I will do everything in my power to make sure you are save."
Tears began welling in both their eyes. Selina knew it would be next to impossible to persuade him to join her in her fight, but she also knew what he said was true. Her only hope would be to let him travel the land, see the happiness that dwelled here, and let that convince him.
"Very well Shiki, if you ever change your mind you know where to find me. I insist however, that you stay here for at least one more day. It's been a while since I've seen you and I might not see you again for a long time. Sleep on the rug, it's comfortable enough, and it's very warm. I'll find you a blanket and pillow. Besides, you look like you could use a bit of rest."
Before Shiki could even open his mouth Selina began to walk away. Shiki watched her hobble slightly in her old form. It suited her to look like an old woman. The things she had seen, heard, and done seemed too much for a 17 year old, even one born in Atra, to ever experience. Even though her new look suited her more, he still greatly preferred her true looked. He smiled as he remembered all the talks he had had with her. Then he quietly let those memories find a quite corner in his mind. In order to complete his mission, and save himself, and Selina from sure death he had to get rid of all distractions. In an instant he switched mentally from a near normal teen, to a finely crafted tool. This mission was going to be tough... Real tough....
*Ada, I'm gonna wait until you're there in the morning. Only YOU can continue this RP. (Also, until you continue it I'm gonna stop RPing... That means even MORE prolonged Ater attack unless Bon-bon and Mags come up with an OMG plot push.)
**Yes the ending is bad. So sue me. I read books like Deltora quest, waddya expect?
***OOOOOOO yes, my character has a love interest now! The daughter of the Overlord no less! How's this gonna end up eh?
****Yeah, yeah this one's pretty sucky. I was listening to Lux Aeterna while I was typing it up so it's gonna be sucky, and I might have messed up a few colors as well....

Kata slowly sipped away at her red tea. No milk in Kata's tea. She couldn't deal with the infernal liquid unless there was boba floating around in the tea. She swished reddish brown tea inside the Ginori ((credit to Ouran High School Host Club Episode 2)) cup. Her emerald eyes, dulled and shadowed by a dark outline, looked at the rising sun. She yawned lazily and put the tea cup on the drawer next to her bed. She rubbed her tired eyes and slowly stumbled towards the kitchen where Auntie and a stranger were sitting down and having breakfast. Kata's eyes narrowed down in disgust as she saw the stranger gulping down a mug of milk. She shrugged to herself.
"Means less milk for Auntie to force me to drink."
"Good morning." Kata said rather irritably, "Your talking kept me up for the whole night."
"Oh-good morning, Katara," Auntie put down her mug full of "-What! Her too?!" milk, "You heard our conversation, dear?"
"No. But you guys mumble rather loudly." Kata said with a big pout on her face. Auntie laughed out loudly.
"So. Who's your friend?" Kata glanced curiously at the stoic character sitting next to Auntie.
"His name is Shinji. He's about 1 year older than you, right hun?" Shiki blinked and nodded in response.
"Nice to meet you!" Kata said cheerfully. Shiki just glared.
"Umm...okay...how about both of us get out and get some fresh air?" Kata suggested. Shiki glared once again.
"Yay! Let's go then." Kata said and quickly dragged Shiki out of the hut.

"Hey I'm not that little! I'm only a year younger than you!"
"A years worth of experience can mean the difference between life and death."
"Gee, lighten up Mr. Dark and mysterious. Besides, you should be nicer to me. I might not look like it, but I'm pretty skilled in combat." Kata did an impressive backflip/twirl motion and landed on her feet only to slip backwards on a twig.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What was that!? Is that some advanced falling down technique!? I bow before your mastery of tripping!"
Trying to hide her embarrassment Kata, quickly held out her hand to Shiki. With a scoff, Shiki turned his back and began to walk back toward the hut.
'Hmph, what a jerk. I cant believe Auntie's friends with him.''
"HEY! Where do you think you're going? I want to play for a bit!"
"Play? What for?"
"Well um... Travelers who come here are usually too weak to even speak, and they never stay long. I haven't played with someone my age in a long time..."
"Hmph, why don't you play with that guy. He was staring at you for a while." Despite his nonchalant attitude, Shiki suddenly tensed. He recognized that uniform. It was an Atran uniform. The person watching them was of lower rank than Shiki, but he would still be trouble. Shiki had left his sword in the hut when the idiot girl had dragged him out, and he couldn't risk going back in to get it. Kata turned to see what guy Shiki was talking about. When she saw who it was she gave a start.
"YOU! What are you doing here!? Stop bothering me! Why do you always have to show up? Can't you just leave me alone!? Come on Shinji, lets go back inside." Kata dragged Shiki by the arm back into the hut. The stranger watched them go for a few seconds. Suddenly he drew a length of rope. Shiki pushed Kata back to the hut.
"Get inside, and bring my sword out here! HURRY!" Shiki couldn't let this loser harm Kata. He had already promised Selina he wouldn't let them come to harm. As much trouble as this might get him in, he had to rid this nuisance. He would make up some story and deal with the consequences later. Out of the corner of his eye Shiki saw Kata running back to the hut. He eyed his opponent warily.
"I suggest you leave. NOW." The assailant simply put his rope away, and brought out a Dao saber. Seeing he quality of it, Shiki scoffed. "Do you think that's enough to stop me? Hmph, bring out as many weapons as you like. I'll easily break all of them."
'Where the hell is Kata with my sword?'
As if reading his mind Kata came running back outside. She was holding his saber in one hand, and had two fans in the other.
'Fans? What is she thinking? Does she honestly think she can beat this guy with fans? Well at least she was competent enough to get my saber.'
"Here's your sword. Be careful Shinji, this guy's tough, but I think we can take him."
"We? Look you don't get it. This guys an Atran he's fourth rank, one rank lower than m... I mean lower than general. If you try fighting with me you'll just get in my way. Get inside and prepare some ointment for me. I'm not gonna argue. Get back inside." After taking his saber from Kata's hands he jumped toward the other man. The sound of steel striking steel rang through the air.
'I better finish this quickly. That stupid girl may just actually try to help. They may have taken away my magic, but they haven't taken away my saber's magic.'' Shiki closed his eyes for a brief moment. His assailant seized his chance. He quickly brought the knife to Shiki's chest.
"SHINJI! OH MY GOSH! YOU JERK! YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR THAT!"
"Tch, idiot. How long away have you been from the ranks?" Shiki murmured. The masked man simply glared back at him, and pulled his knife away. Once the knife came away from the wound Shiki plunged his saber back in. Suddenly everything went deathly silent. The surrounding area became all black. Shiki, Kata, and the Atran were the only objects left with any color or form. Then suddenly an inhuman shriek pierced the silence. Shiki's eyes opened with a snap. They were no longer brown. Within them, the Atran saw a demonic flame burn.
"Leave now, and never come back. If you do I assure you, all that you will know is pain and suffering for all eternity." Shiki's lips had moved, but it was not his voice that spoke. "I hereby declare this area cursed with the spirit of Eligos! May all those who dare trespass have their souls fed to the flames of Hell!"
Suddenly the world snapped back. The Atran paled after realizing what had taken place. He turned tail and ran. Shiki collapsed onto the ground with the sword still in his chest. Kata screamed, and Selina came running. A quick glance told her all she needed to know.
'Shi - Shinji you idiot! You could die!'
"Kata, quickly bring him inside. We need to care for his wound immediately."

"Sorry about that Selina. I thought i could kill two birds with one stone. Get rid of that guy, and keep you and your 'niece' safe. Don't worry, you can still heal weary travelers. The only people who will suffer the consequence are those who wish ill-will or are no longer allowed within this area. If you wish you can always get the place exorcised. I'll leave some gold behind in case you want to do that."
"Oh, Shiki. You're such an idiot. You could have died!"
"I didn't worry about that. I knew you'd be able to nurse me back. Well I better leave now. They'll be tracking me now, and I don't want you hurt."
"Wait Shiki, are you still going to.."
"I'm afraid so. I will continue serving the Master, but I promise I won't turn you in, after all you're still technically helping our cause. I hope I didn't scare the girl too bad. Well, I must be off." With that Shiki turned and quickly walked out the door. He had no idea where to go next, but he had to find some information, and quickly. His week was almost up....
*No that magic I do with my sword isn't cheap! I can only use it when I'm near death, and unless I'm treated immediately I WILL die.
**Ada you'd better RP some more. You're the only one I actually have some power over, so I can't make anyone else RP....
***Yes I know, my RP's suck. Please leave as many complaints as you like in any of my threads... Without criticism I will surely fail before the war even begins....

oooooooOOOOOOOOOOh love interest!!! And actually no, you RP is actually quite good, longer than what we all do and more descriptive. And dramatic. I mean, you actually killed someone without making it into a parody (me and Maggeh), getting raped (Zak), or using copyrighted Summon Spirits (Matt). Oh and Ada and her fans. Oh those fans.

Kata fiddled with her dragon necklace. She stared at the pearly milkiness until Auntie called her name from the kitchen. She quickly got up from her bed and skipped to the the kitchen.
"Yes Auntie?" she said as she bounced into the kitchen. Ever since Shiki had put up the barrier, she had been Kyousei-free and she had been loving every second without him. Still, a small hollow feeling lurked inside her but she chose to establish it as non-Kyousei related.
"Hello Katara. Be a sweetheart and run an errand for me?" Auntie asked with a strange smile on her face.
"Okay...sure." Kata said a bit unsurely. Something about the smile....
"Okay honey. Here are the directions. I want you to go to the city, Elrand and visit the house next to the art shop and give him this scroll." Auntie said as she handed the scroll, directions, and pack of supplies and clothes. Kata started to unroll the scroll but Auntie's hand shot out snatched it away.
"Do NOT! Under any circumstance, read this." she said as she rolled it back and handed it back. Kata frowned, dying to know what was so important that even she could not know.
"I'm pretty sure if I read it, I wouldn't get it so what's the harm?" she thought. She sighed and put the scroll and directions into her pack and slung it over her shoulder.
"I'm off then, Auntie. Love you lots." she exclaimed and burst out the door. The door shut and Auntie chuckled a bit and went back to grinding the herbs.

Selina was grinding herbs, as usual, for a traveler who had an insane rash. She got up from the chair she was sitting at to go fetch more in the garden outside.
Once outside, she started to gather a few in her apron. For a few minutes, she kept on doing this until she stopped and looked up.
"Have you come to watch me pick herbs all day or have you come to ask me something?" Selina calmly asked to a tree. Kyousei mysteriously stepped out from behind the tree.
"Indeed, I have come to ask you something." Kyousei smirked mysteriously, "Concerning the scroll you sent to me."
"Well then, come in!" she exclaimed. Selina couldn't help but smile.

Chi enters the healer's hut, curious about what the real "healers hut" looked like. She went to a quite messed up version of the healers hut last time and so Chi breathed in the new sights. The healer's hut was quite furnished and pleasant. The backdoor was open to a cottage garden so Chi cheerfully went outside. There, she saw a woman and a guy. They were discussing something secretive and pointing at a scroll. As soon as she made eye contact with them, they stopped and stared at her with big bulgy eyes.
" Umm, hello?" Chi shyly waved. They kept on staring with a panicky look in their eyes.
" I think they are delusionally broken in mind." Chi thought with a sarcastic look in her eyes.

Kyousei mysteriously recovered and tucked the scroll into his sleeve. He bowed to Selena, mysteriously threw a smoke bomb and dissapeared. Selena got up and went over to Chi.
"Hello, sweetie. How can I help you?" she said with a warm smile.
"Sorry to intrude but I just wanted to see what the inside of the hut looked like. It's really calm and relaxing." Chi responded. She glanced around. The place was filled with pictures of the lady standing before her and another girl that seemed to be her age. And there were a few pictures of the masked man from before and the girl.

Chi smiled with serene ease.
"Hi, im Chihiro. I was just stopping by. This is such a pretty hut you got here."
The kind lady invited her for tea and Chihiro grabbed a wooden stool, sipping mysterious chocolate brown tea which tasted heavenly, a bit herby. This place was so homely and cozy. Chihiro never felt more safe in her life.
